Apple To Release iPadOS 16.1 Update Alongside New Devices Later This Month

According to reports, Apple might introduce iPadOS 16.1 updates along with other new devices in the last week of October.

The California giant confirmed last month that it will launch iPadOS 16 as well as macOS 13 Ventura sometime at the end of October. The launch of iPadOS 16 was delayed in August due to performance issues reported by beta testers.

Based on a recent tweet by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, iPadOS 16.1, the first version of iPadOS 16 will be launched sometime after 24th October 2022.

The upcoming iPadOS update is supported by all iPad Pro models, iPad Mini fifth or newer generation, and iPad Air third generation and later. The update will also be available for iPad fifth generation or later versions.

Last month, it was indicated by Gurman that Apple might cancel its October event and release the new products on the company’s website or in press releases.

Rumors suggest that Apple might lunch an iPadOS 16.1 update alongside two new iPads at the end of this month. Reportedly, the tech giant is working on an affordable iPad model as well as a new M2-powered iPad Pro.

The revamped version of the iPad might either carry the A14 Bionic chip or the M2 processor. It is also reported that the tenth-generation iPad will be equipped with a TouchID button. It is likely to ditch the FaceID feature for the TouchID button.

Apple might also integrate the TouchID button with the power button and relocate the FaceTime HD camera to one side of the phone.

Rumors suggest that the tech giant is planning to bring back the USB-C. Based on a recent report, the upcoming iPad will feature a 10.9-inch or 10.5-inch display.

Another report states that Apple might launch the two updated models of the Mac Mini and the Mac Pro.

As of now, the tech giant has not announced the date for its October launch event. Everything that is known is either based on rumors or insider sources.

One thing is guaranteed that iPadOS 16.1 update is coming later this month. As far as, other Apple devices are concerned, nothing is confirmed yet. Based on Apple’s past release pattern, there’s a good chance that the tech giant will launch the new iPad, iPad Pro, Mac Mini, and Mac Pro.

We will get to see what Apple is up to once they finalize the date for their October event.
