If you can't use the built-in LiveUpdate function to update WireFusion, then you can download and install an update manually.

To update manually:
1. Download the update file, found below, to your computer.
2. Start WireFusion.
3. Choose Help > Software Updates > Manual Update...
4. In the Update Installer dialog, select the update file.
5. Click OK and restart WireFusion to complete the update.

WireFusion 4.1 Updates

NOTE: This update requires that you have WireFusion 4.1.0 or higher.

4.1.20 Updates:

  • Bug fix: The debugger sometimes crashed WireFusion
  • Bug fix: The Avatar height inports in 3D Scene did not work.
  • Bug fix: Using the 3D Scene hotkey for navigation mode "Normal" did not work.
  • Bug fix: VRML files with a file name less than 3 characters long could not be loaded.

4.1.19 Updates:

  • Bug fix: Some configurations on the 3D mouse navigation did not work. In particular when having zoom, pan and rotate using only one mouse button but with different key combinations.
  • Bug fix: 3D Scene objects dynamically loaded and added through the 3D API did not cast a shadow.
  • Improvement: 3D Scene objects dynamically loaded through the 3D API can now be placed in sub-folders under the presentation folder.
  • Improvement: The IndexedLineSet node used to display lines is now supported.

4.1.18 Updates:

  • Bug fix: The repeat function in the Button object did not work with some Java versions on OS X.
  • Improvement: On computers with slow graphics cards, occasional frames in WireFusion presentations looked "sliced". This performance problem has now been solved.

4.1.17 Updates:

  • Bug fix: Presentations were incompatible with Java 1.1 in WireFusion 4.1.15 and 4.1.16

4.1.16 Updates:

  • Improvement: Memory used by Image and Scene objects is released when they are deactivated
  • Bug fix: A bug in the Dummy object could cause strange behaviour of values of events of other objects to be altered

4.1.15 Updates:

  • Bug fix: Objects could not be stamped correctly when they were inside a non active Scene
  • Bug fix: Anti-aliasing did not work in Text Window on OS X
  • New feature: Enable/Disable in-ports have been added to the Dummy object
  • New feature: Slider can now have a "Min value" larger than its "Max value" (reversed scale)
  • Improvement: Maximum number of wires connected to/from an object was increased from 200 to 500

4.1.14 Updates:

  • Bug fix: Texture images containing space were not displayed in 3D models
  • Bug fix: The status text of anchor nodes were not correctly displayed
  • Bug fix: Some widgets would not return to their correct state when re-enabled
  • New feature: Two new in-ports added to Slider, "Set Min Value" and "Set Max Value"
  • New feature: Text Window now supports Anti-Aliasing (Java 2 only, will not be displayed with Anti-Aliasing if Java 1.1)
  • New feature: When publishing with "Download Java Plug-in if Java is missing" selected, an adaption to the new Internet Explorer work-around for Eolas patent will be included

4.1.13 Updates:

  • Bug fix: More than one Scene could not be used inside a single Scene
  • Bug fix: If a Wire was disabled, and the project was saved and later loaded, the Wire was enabled
  • Bug fix: The Texture Array object could in some cases not be created
  • New feature: You can now create menu structures for ports in the Java object (see the Java reference manual)

4.1.12 Updates:

  • Bug fix: A memory leak could appear when the 3D API method WF3DScene.replaceScene() was used
  • Bug fix: TouchSensors on 3D Objects where the texture was replaced using either a Texture or a Texture Array object did not display the TouchSensor cursor
  • New feature: Default WireFusion 3D format extension was changed to ".w3f"

4.1.11 Updates:

  • Bug fix: There was a memory leak in WireFusion 4.1.10, preventing memory used by presentations to be released when presentaions were exited

4.1.10 Updates:

  • Bug fix: Presentations published with WireFusion 4.1.9 were not Java 1.1 compatible
  • New feature: It is now possible to create out-port events directly in the init and ap methods in the Java object

4.1.9 Updates:

  • New feature: Sliders can now be resized. You no longer need to change slider image just to changed its length
  • Bug fix: The "Set Property" in-port in the Screenshot object, introduced in the previous update, was not visible

4.1.8 Updates:

  • New feature: In the Screenhot object, you can now set properties by sending a property in the format key=value to the Set Property in-port. IMPORTANT: You must update your Screenshot server software.
  • New feature: Slider now supports Tick Spacing
  • New feature: You can now control if Color Array should push its first color at presentation startup

4.1.7 Updates:

  • Bug fix: The performance of animated 3D presentations decreased over time (noticeable after 5-10 minutes).
  • Bug fix: File dialogs did not work under OSX 10.4.

4.1.6 Updates:

  • Bug fix: The order in which events were fired from an out-port was not preserved when the object was moved to a new folder.
  • Bug fix: When the Flash object was used in a presentation, the memory used by the presentation could not be released until the browser was closed.

4.1.5 Updates:

  • Bug fix: A bug in the presentation player caused very slow loading of presentations.

4.1.4 Updates:

  • Bug fix: The Screenshot Object did not always upload the complete screenshot. (Feature not available in Standard Edition)
  • Bug fix: Naming three or more nodes with the same name in a VRML file caused some of the objects to be removed.
  • Improvement: The Scene object now uses 50% less memory and uses less CPU when stamp is not used by objects on its stage (creating static background graphics using stamp still gives superior performance though, compared to using activated target areas)
  • New feature: A JSP version of the Screenshot uploading server has been added to \resources\jsp\ScreenshotServerExample. (Feature not available in Standard Edition)

4.1.3 Updates:

  • Bug fix: Fixed memory problem in 3D Object introduced in WireFusion 4.1.2. Also improved memory handling of GIF and PNG images.
  • Improvement: Parsing of VRML files containing duplicate node names now works.
  • Bug fix: The X3D parser did not work due to a problem accessing a library file.

4.1.2 Updates:

  • New feature: Old *.wf.wrl files can now be loaded and also converted in the 3D Scene dialog using the Batch Convert button. (conversion not available in Standard and Professional edition)
  • Bug fix: Projects containing 3D Scene objects created with version 3.2 were not correctly loaded.
  • Bug fix: In the 3D Scene object (3D World mode), the fields Avatar Height and Camera Animation Speed could not accept fractional values.
  • Bug fix: VRML files containing PROTO nodes were unable to load.
  • Bug fix: X3D files beginning with a <Meta> tag were not correctly loaded.
  • Bug fix: Edge anti-aliasing on 3D objects with color vertices was incorrectly rendered.
  • Bug fix: The Educational edition was not enabled to access 3D scenes through the Java object (3D API).
  • Bug fix: A 3D scene with a reference to an image that did not exist caused a crash with Java 1.5.
  • Bug fix: Panning of Script Area canceled connection mode.
  • Bug fix: When Script Area panning had been used, the connection cursor would not show.
  • Bug fix: When exporting a library as freeware, you had to enter a secret key.

4.1.1 Updates:

  • Bug fix: Transparency mode in the Flash object did not work.
  • Bug fix: Highlighting of objects and wires could get stuck.
  • Bug fix: The ColorArray object could not be configured.
  • Bug fix: The new feature with capapility to use object opacity together with transparent textures caused problem when object opacity was set to 100.
  • Bug fix: The 3D Scene Replace dialog did not show the correct file extensions.
  • Bug fix: Renderer settings per object was resetet.

4.0.9 Updates:

  • Bug fix: The replace function in the 3D Scene dialog failed to remove all old ports, which caused port problems.
  • Bug fix: When setting a new Camera on a 3D Scene the navigation friction motion was not stopped.
  • Bug fix: The tooltip text could not be changed once the tooltip was shown.
  • Bug fix: The "Bring to Front" in-port caused target areas to be shown above tooltips.
  • New feature: Java class libraries and resource files can now be added to the Java object and accessed from the Java code. (Feature not available in Standard Edition)
  • New feature: The Screenshot object now saves images in the JPEG format if using Java 2, otherwise BMP. (Feature not available in Standard Edition)
  • New feature: Infinite loops caused by circular connections between objects are now detected and no longer crashes WireFusion.

4.0.8 Updates:

  • Bug fix: Some object dialogs did not close correctly when using the (x) button, instead of the "Cancel" button.
  • Bug fix: Mouse interactivity with 3D scenes did not work in published full screen and resized applications.
  • Bug fix: Some 3D objects were not correctly replaced when using the Replace function.
  • Bug fix: Using the Replace function in the 3D Scene dialog with .wf.wrl-files removed the shadow rendering settings.
  • Bug fix: Deleting the default camera caused the 3DScene dialog to crash when reopening the dialog.
  • Bug fix: Avatar Height, Radius, Step Height fields were reset to 0 when the 3D dialog was opened.
  • Bug fix: Added a fix to the problem that Lightwave specifies avatarSize incorrectly in a exported VRML file.
  • Bug fix: Added a fix to the problem that Maya specifies images with absolute paths.
  • Bug fix: Fixed problems with 3D scene ports for Cameras and TouchSensors.
  • Bug fix: Unchecking "Use existing normals" and re-selecting the 3D object showed the crease angle slider as disabled.
  • Bug fix: Some VRML files containing nodes of type IndexedLineSet caused the dialog to freeze.
  • Bug fix: The "Open Folder" option when publishing presentations in Windows did not work if presentations were published to folders containing spaces.
  • New feature: A check system was added to prevent corruption of 3D files when using the Replace function.
  • New feature: The ',' (comma) character is now supported by number input fields in countries where ',' is used as decimal separator instead of '.' (dot).

4.0.7 Updates:

  • Bug fix: The GIF Animation object was not Java 1.1 compatible.
  • Bug fix: The presentation loading progress bar could make a slight jump backwards occasionally.
  • Bug fix: Alpha channel images for textures in the 3D Scene object were not saved and published with the project.
  • Bug fix: Real-time shadows was not visible for streamed 3D models.
  • Bug fix: Some VRML files with animations (e.g. exported from Maya) caused a loading error.
  • Bug fix: VRML models specified with colorPerVertex set to FALSE and containing a colorIndex caused an error.
  • Bug fix: VRML files with shapes specified under the Collision node accidentally removed the shapes.
  • Bug fix: Collision settings in 3D Worlds were not preserved when choosing "Keep old Object settings".
  • Bug fix: The method names in WFComponentManager did not match the names specified in the documentation. (Feature not available in the Standard and Professional editions)
  • Bug fix: Checkbox and Radiobutton were not totally Java 1.1 compatible.
  • Bug fix: Library Favorite icons could occasionally be included in published presentations.
  • New feature: A new in-port, Load Parameter File, has been added to the System Object.
  • New feature: Support for VRML node PointSet.
  • New feature: The Text Window object can now display texts specified by system parameters. (Feature not available in Standard Edition)
  • New feature: Frames per second (fps) is now displayed in the applet window instead of the status window.

4.0.6 Updates:

  • Bug fix: The 3D Navigation Renderer did not return to the default renderer when Anti-Aliasing was set to On.
  • Bug fix: The 3D Animation tree wasn't working correctly.
  • Bug fix: Animation between 3D cameras, where the cameras had different field of views (FOV), had a jerk at startup.
  • Bug fix: In the 3D Scene object, touchsensors generated Enter events when the mouse cursor was moved over a touchsensor. This could cause problems, for example with tooltips.
  • Bug fix: Published applets using the Missing Java script did not work in the Opera web browser.
  • General: The preview shortcut F9 has been changed to F7 instead.

  • Bug fix: Low accuracy in the Z-buffer caused artifacts on small 3D models.
  • Bug fix: A permanent alpha channel was added to 3D objects when applying transparent GIF images as textures.
  • Bug fix: After the 4.0.4 update some 3D models did not display their textures when published.
  • Bug fix: The GIF Animation object did not always update when the in-port Goto Frame was triggered.

  • Bug fix: VRML files with navigation types other than Examine or Walk could not be loaded.

  • Bug fix: The "Repeat Rate" function, when using Advanced Mode in Button, did not work.
  • Bug fix: The "About Demicron..." menu could show when right clicking a 3D scene.
  • Bug fix: Several minor bugs has also been corrected.

  • Bug fix: Real-time shadows in the 3D Scene object could sometimes be flipped.

  • Bug fix: Camera animations made a jump at startup. The out-port 'Camera Set' sent out pulses both in the beginning and at the end of a camera animation, instead of only at the end.
  • Bug fix: Replacing a 3D model in the 3D Scene, using the Replace function, did not keep all old settings. Option to keep old animation setting is added, as well as automatic keeping of old Rendering and Navigation settings.
  • Bug fix: Reflections on 3D planes sometimes had artifacts when zoomed in.
  • Bug fix: Loading of WireFusion 3.x projects could disconnect wires to/from the 3D Scene object.
  • Bug fix: Time did not increase for each frame when publishing as Image Sequence. (Feature not available in Standard Edition)
  • Bug fix: Objects inserted from Favorites were sometimes reset to their original settings.
  • Bug fix: Undo now works for adding a new object.
  • New feature: Specify your own frame icon when saving as Java application. (Feature not available in Standard Edition)
